| I am researching a John McCaskill born 1817 in Oban, Scotland and Isabella Fraser who (was born on a boat coming to Glengarry, Ontario) 16 Octo 1819. Don't know where in Scotland she came from but believe to be in the glenelg area. Any help would be appreciated | ||

| I am looking for information on a Mary McCaskill born in Govan 27th February 1893. She was one of 9 children of Allan and Sarah McCaskill. She signed her fathers death certificate in 1936 as Marion MacCaskill, I am assuming this is the same Mary. She only had one sister Agnes born 9th March 1897 and died in 1979 (at 1249 Govan Road Govan) and 7 brothers. I cannot find either a marriage or death certificate for her and would be grateful if anyone recognises any of these names/places. | ||

I have him born 1843, married Sarah 1872. My g,g grandfather was john, his son alexander (lihthousekeeper at Gourock -Cloch lighthouse) and his son John and his daughter, my mother Christina.I also haven't got further than Peter who married Christina macleod. | Nice to receive the Journal again. In 1804 ALEXANDER MACASKILL (SENIOR) was evicted from MyelMore at the head of Mam Ratagan near Glenelg. I cannot trace what happened to him after that. Best wishes Allan. | ||

| I'm a descendent of John MacAskill & Flora Gillies from Bracadale in the 1800s, then through their son Archy who married Susannah MacLeod in Portree. Their children all migrated to Glasgow where my grandfather was born. Would love to hear from any "relations". | ||
